Kyoto Botanical Garden Open Early in the Morning

It's a hot and severe summer in Japan, but it's nice that you can get up early because the sunrise is early.

Why don't we get up early and go for a walk in the early morning when the air is clear?

Kyoto Botanical Garden opens from 7:30 in the morning until August 15.

It is 1 hour and 30 minutes earlier than the regular opening time, and you can enjoy the vast park in a cool morning.

For 5 days from July 30 to August 3, it opens even earlier at 7 AM!

It is opened in conjunction with the "Asagao Ten (Morning Glory Exhibition)", so please visit the Morning Glory Exhibition.

There are a wide variety of varieties, from the familiar variety to "Henka Asagao (Varied Morning Glories)" with uniquely shaped petals and leaves.

The best time to see it is until around 10 AM, when the color of morning glory is bright.

Speaking of flowers that bloom early in the morning, there are lotus flowers other than morning glories.

At Shikisai-no-oka, a kind of lotus "Kokuryuko-Sho Beni-Basu" blooms.

It blooms at the border between Russia and China.

The "Shiki-Irodori-no-oka" consists of hills, streams, ponds and rocky mountains, and is a reproduction of various natural environments.

About 200 varieties of lotus are cultivated in pots, and it is a spot where we can enjoy the scent of flowers up close.

The best time to see lotus flowers is from the opening time to around 11 AM.

We can also see lotus blooming in the morning at "Hasu-Ike Pond" and "Ajisai-En Park" in the park.

The Kyoto Botanical Garden was established in 1924 and is the first public botanical garden in Japan.

About 12,000 kinds of plants are grown in the vast land of 240,000 square meters.

At the viewing greenhouse which opens every day from 10 AM, the "Insectivorous Plants Exhibition" is being held until August 9.

As the name suggests, there are 150 bowls of about 100 kinds of "Insectivorous Plants" that are displayed in the special exhibition room.

During the period, we can also experience the "Hae-tori-Sou (fly catcher plant)" that has tactile hairs on the inside of the leaves.

It is good for going home after seeing the flowers that bloom early in the morning.

And it is good for taking your time and enjoy the view from every corner of the park, too.

The entrance fee to the botanical garden and the entrance fee to the viewing greenhouse are 200 yen for adults, and it is also attractive that they are reasonable.

You can also use your time meaningfully, and you will be able to feel "The early bird catches the worm".
