Demachi Shopping Street's "歳末大売出し (Year-end grand sale)"

It is a time when words such as "年の瀬 (Toshi-no-se)" and "歳末 (Sai-matsu)" are exchanged to greet the end of the year.

One of the features of December is the "歳末大売出し (Year-end grand sale)" held in shopping streets.

At this time of the year, the shopping district is filled with a special atmosphere, such as a line of products to celebrate the New Year.

The Demachi Shopping District is holding its annual "歳末大売出し (Year-end grand sale)" until Tuesday, December 28.

This is an arcade where the words "お鏡餅 (Okagami-mochi)", "門松 (Kado-matsu), "数の子 (Kazunoko), "てっさ (Tessa)" and "てっちり (Tecchiri)" line up.

Kyoto specialties such as "阿闍梨餅 (Ajari-mochi), "堀川ごぼう (Horikawa-gobo), "生麩 (Nama-fu) and "海老芋 (Ebi-imo) are also on display.

Handwritten signboards and decorations by people in the shopping street are also tasteful and nice.

We can also look forward to participating in the raffle with the raffle ticket you get when you shop or eat at the shopping street!

One of the highlights of the product is the pair invitation for the "Zenshin-za Kyoto New Year Special Performance" at the Kyoto Theater.

They also have futon dryers, electric blankets, aroma humidifiers and other products that make you feel comfortable in winter.

Demachiyanagi, where the Demachi shopping district is located, is the terminal of the Saba Kaido (mackerel road) that connects Wakasa (Fukui) and Kyoto.

In the Edo period, mackerels and other fish caught in the sea of Wakasa (Fukui) were carried by carriers.

In the arcade of the shopping street, there are also giant mackerel objects swimming.

If you want to taste mackerel sushi, please go to "Masugataya", a Japanese restaurant established 100 years ago.

The "Matsuya grocery store" under the mackerel object also sells "Ajari mochi (rice cake)", a famous cake of Kyoto.

There is a Ajari-mochi sales counter next to the food such as rice and red beans.

We can participate as many times as we like from 14 to 15 o'clock during the period.

The entry fee is 100 yen and there is a 1 time raffle.

Please apply at the lottery site in the middle of the arcade of Demachi shopping street.
