Obon in Kyoto①What is a custom unique to Kyoto called "THE SPIRIT WELCOME."?

The Obon festival when the ancestors return to this world.

In Kyoto, there is a custom to call the spirits of ancestors "Osarai-san (Oshorei)" and go to a temple called the border between this world and the other world to welcome them.

One of those temples is Rokudochinno-ji Temple.

The "Takanomaki" sold at this flower shop on the approach is an important item to welcome the spirits.

It is said that the spirit who came by the welcome bell dwells in the branch of the Maki tree, so if you stop by before you go home, the spirit gets lost!?

Let's go straight home to pick up the spirits so they won't get lost.
