"Teuchi Daisen soba Hibiki"

In 2020, the winter solstice is December 21.

On a cold day, I tend to eat warm udon and soba.

There is a cold soba that even it is cold I want to eat right in front of Demachiyanagi Station of Eizan Electric Railway.

They serve authentic handmade Daisen soba "Teuchi (Handmade) Daisen Soba Hibiki".

As the name suggests, buckwheat flour of Daisen Soba harvested at the foot of Daisen Mountain in Tottori Prefecture is used.

The "Daisen soba" that flows from the Izumo Soba is known as the local cuisine of Daisen.

The "Tokumori soba (Special assorted soba noodles)" that you will want to try is full of spices such as soft boiled egg, grated daikon radish, green perilla, and flower.

It is said that the mainstream is to dip it in the sauce first like zarusoba and then eat it as bukkake style.

In addition, it is also a feature to sprinkle not wasabi but ichimi togarashi (Cayenne pepper powder) placed on the table according to preference.

It is also the best part of cold Soba to warm up with Soba-yu (Soba hot water) after enjoying the smell of Soba and the feeling down your throat.

For cold soba, try the Sanin style "Warigo soba (noodles)" or "Tororo mori soba (Soba noodles with grated yam)".

And if you want warm soba, try "Kake soba (noodles)" or "Irodori soba (noodles)" "Kizami age soba (Fried Buckwheat noodles)".

The daily special takikomi gohan (mixed rice) is limited in quantity, and I had "Saba (Mackerel) Takikomi gohan" on this day.

The landmark is a wooden sign that says "Handmade Oyama Soba Hibiki" in front of Demachiyanagi Station on the Eizan Electric Railway.

When you pass through the noren, you are greeted by two smiling elderly women.

It is a small restaurant with 8 seats including counter and Koagari, and there is a line during lunch time.

Please go out after checking business days and hours.

This year has reached the end of the year in a blink of an eye, and toshikoshi soba has come to pass.

It's hard to go back to your hometown in this time of the year, but we eat year-crossing noodles for good luck.
