Flowers for spring dining table

Today, my wife cooked a side dish for our dinner was boiled canola flowers.

The canola flowers she used were sold at the roadside station Woody Keihoku. It was 150 yen.

We call canola flowers as "Nanohana" in Japanese is a general term for cruciferous flowers. There are many kind of edible flowers such as canola, turnip, radish, Chinese cabbage, and broccoli.

Cruciferous vegetables planted in autumn and bloom in spring, you can eat any of their flowers.

I like the taste of canola flowers have a good sweetness and bitterness.
